are you ready to electrify your home?
Under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program we're helping households install efficient new hot water and heating and cooling systems.
Electrify your home To get off gas & reduce your energy costs
Our mission is to help households drive the transition to 100% renewable energy, while lowing their energy costs.
To do this, households not only need to be smart about their energy use by using Amber’s smart technology, but they need to get off gas completely.
That’s why we’re also in the business of helping homes take advantage of government rebates to upgrade to more efficient, electric appliances - how many other energy companies want you to actually use less energy?

Heating and Cooling
Reduce your heating and cooling costs by up to 60% and save up to $6,000 on a new reverse-cycle air conditioning system
Electric reverse cycle split systems are the most energy efficient, cost effective heating and cooling option available.
Victorian residents can install a multi-room reverse air-conditioner for a heavily discounted up-front cost using new government incentives.
Reasons to change your gas ducted system
- If you are a Victorian resident, you'll save up to $6,000 installing a multi-room system
- Reduce your energy consumption up-to 60% with a reverse cycle air-conditioner compared to a gas ducted system
- Reverse cycle air-conditioner units allow both heating and cooling
Why Upgrade
Comparison data shows that a 2.5 star Multi-split reverse cycle air-conditioner costs $1,007 annually compared to $2,547 for a 3.0 star Gas ducted (unzoned) system. Also, if your house has a rooftop solar system, the benefits of heating and cooling with electric reverse cycle systems can be even greater.
What does it cost?
Installing a 15kW compressor and 3 head units will normally cost you $12,000. But using the government rebates reduce this up to $6,000 including GST for Victorian residents. Any additional head unit will be installed for $980. This offer is available to those that currently have a gas ducted system in their home.
Hot water
Heat pumps are up-to 65% more energy efficient than traditional hot water systems. Get a $4,000 system for as little as $1,580 fully installed.
The Victorian government is currently offering rebates to upgrade your heating and cooling system and hot water system to an energy efficient heat pump. This modern alternative uses electricity to transfer heat from the surrounding air or ground, making it up to 65% more efficient than traditional gas hot water systems.
One of the primary benefits of switching to a heat pump is its impressive efficiency. According to the Australian government's Energy Rating website, heat pumps can be up to three times more efficient than gas hot water systems. This means you can save money on your energy bills while also reducing your carbon footprint.
Hot water efficiency rebates
In fact, Sustainability Victoria’s Hot Water Running Costs 2020* estimates that running a gas hot water system costs approximately $410 annually, while an electric heat pump system costs only $180 per year and with gas prices on a steady rise, this saving can increase each year. That translates to a savings of $230 per year, with the added bonus of being better for the environment.
The rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis and only while funding lasts. If you're interested in making the switch, now is the time to act and take advantage of these cost-saving and environmentally friendly incentives.
