Absolutely delighted with Amber

We're absolutely delighted with Amber, and Smartshift. We have two EVs, 10kW solar and a 13.5 kWh Tesla Powerwall, in SE NSW. We are a multi-year Amber customer, having previously been with Mojo, and Powershop. In our situation, it's not quite 'set and forget', as sometimes we turn off Smartshift, to enable the cars to be recharged on a sunny day, and still have >90% battery at day's end. The app is terrific, and jointly with Tesla's own app, we can pretty well get the best outcome, most days. There is the occasional glitch on seeing previous day's results, but Amber is very communicative, and we've never had to guess what is going on. We've recommended two other consumers to Amber, and they are equally pleased, although one (without battery) feels it accentuates the need to be able to store excess energy to get full benefit.

Amber is like a breath of fresh air

Amber is like a breath of fresh air! After using well known three letter energy retailer for years I have made a switch a week ago and not going to look back. Amber gives you what other retailers don't: FREEDOM. I am free to decide when to buy energy and when not: having solar and battery it gives me options I did not have before. But this morning I've got a message from Amber and it prompted me to write this review: they experienced a bug in their system. I am software engineer myself and I know that bugs are inevitable. It is how do you deal with them matters. And Amber's actions are proper and outstanding: they are honest and they going to wave fees for the customers which were affected. When they got a problem they own it and deal with it as a good business would instead of sweeping it under the rug.Honest energy retailer with clear vision - that's what this country needs! Bravo Chris and the crew!

We’ve been with Amber for about a year. I like the transparency of the app which allows me to monitor usage and the warnings about price spikes. We’ve just had solar panels installed and I’m able to see flows to the grid. We’re committed to using as much renewable energy as possible. We received credit on our last bill as part of their price guarantee.

Amazing concept made possible by Smart…

Amazing concept made possible by Smart Meter tech. If you program the timers on your electric devices like water heaters, dishwashers, washing machines, electric car chargers, to run during cheap energy timeframes the savings are amazing. I went from $200/month with flat fee provider to $50/month with Amber. I was astonished to read some of the one-star reviews here. They have no idea what they signed up for or expect VIP 5-star customer service for $20/month. If you failed math in school do not sign up and stay with a flat fee energy utility.

Great app

Great app, intuitive interface. Love what they're trying to do and excited to see how continue enhancements to technology bring them closer to their vision. Nature of the beast is that you're exposed to price fluctuations so you need to pay attention. Overall I think I pay less than I would through a traditional retailer.
