terms and conditions for 2024 spring referrals competition

The competition summary - Refer a friend successfully to Amber or sign up to Amber using a friend's referral code, in order to go in the draw for a chance to win $2,000 off your energy bills.

The following terms and conditions apply to the promotion:

(1) promotional period

  • (1a) Start date for promotion is Tuesday 15 October 2024 (12am AEDT). End date for promotion is 30 November 2024 (11.59pm AEDT)
  • (1b) Winner will be drawn on Monday 2 December 2024 at 12pm AEDT at the offices of Amber Electric

(2) the prize

  • (2a) $2,000 AUD deducted from a household energy bill, applied as a monthly bill credit.

(3) eligibility

  • (3a) 18 years or over
  • (3b) A current residential Amber customer (or new customer signing up in the promotional period) for a site located in NSW, ACT, SA, VIC, or south-east QLD (Prize is for one site only)
  • (3c) Remain an Amber customer for 12 continuous months following the award of the Prize. You may leave Amber at any time with no exit fees, however eligibility ceases from the time of transferring to another retailer. We will make sure you receive a pro rata benefit of the Prize for the time you were an Amber customer, since the date you accepted the Prize. If you leave Amber after winning the prize and then re-join, you are no longer eligible for the Prize.

(4) HOW TO ENTER

  • (4a) Entry must be submitted during the Promotional Period
  • (4b) Entry to the competition can be achieved through one of the following 2 methods;
    • Method 1: Successfully refer a friend or family member to Amber through redemption of your unique referral code
    • Method 2: Sign up to Amber through redemption of your friend or family member's unique referral code.
  • (4c) Multiple entries to the competition can be achieved via Method 1. The number of friends and family members you successfully refer to Amber will constitute the total competition entries, thereby increasing your chances to win.

(5) HOW The winner is chosen

  • (5a) The Promotion is a game of chance
  • (5b) Winner will be chosen by https://commentpicker.com/random-name-picker.php on 2 December 2024 @ 12:00 pm (AEDT).

(6) HOW The winner is notified

  • (6a) The Winner will be contacted on or around 2 December 2024 via email address, using their Amber account contact information.
  • (6b) The Winner will also be announced on Amber social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn at 2:00 pm (AEDT) on 5 December 2024

(7) CLAIMING THE PRIZE

  • (7a) Winner must accept the Prize by 11:59 pm on 9 December 2024 by replying to the notification in clause 6a or by such other method specified in the notification
  • (7b) If the Winner does not claim the Prize by 9 December 2024, the Winner will be taken to have forfeited the Prize and the Prize will be awarded to a Reserve Winner chosen in a redraw as set out in clause 8

(8) RESERVE WINNER REDRAW

  • (8a) If the Winner does not claim the Prize personally by 9 December 2024 a redraw will be conducted to select a Reserve Winner. This redraw will take place at Amber Electric offices
  • (8b)  If required, a redraw will be conducted at or around 12pm on 10 December 2024 by the same method as used to select the Winner, that is by https://commentpicker.com/random-name-picker.php
  • (8c)  The same eligibility provisions apply to any Reserve Winner selected in a redraw as apply to the original Winner, as set out in clauses 3, 7,  8, 9, 10.
  • (8d)  The results of a redraw, if conducted, will be announced on Amber social media platforms on or around 10 December 2024 and the Reserve Winner will be contacted via the email address included as their Amber account contact information
  • (8e) Reserve Winner must accept their Prize by 11.59pm on 16 December 2024 by replying to the notification in clause 8d or by such other method specified in the notification.
  • (8f) If the Reserve Winner does not claim the Prize by 16 December 2024, the competition will cease and no Prize will be awarded.

(9) PREREQUISITES TO CLAIM

  • (9a) As conditions of the Winner, Reserve Winner, claiming the prize, the Prize Recipient must:
    • accept these terms
    • consent to the publication of their name (which can be an initial and surname if preferred by the Prize Recipient) in accordance with these terms;
    • consent to Amber using the Prize Recipient's name or initial and surname, likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) and suburb in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of this promotion (including any outcome).

(10) GENERAL TERMS

  • (10a) If the Prize Recipient finds their bill in credit at the end of any month, the bill credit will be applied to future bills to cover their electricity usage. If the Prize Recipient leaves Amber and their final bill is in credit they will be paid in accordance with Amber’s terms and conditions.
  • (10b) Prizes are not redeemable for cash.
